We work to provide everyone in our community a sustainable, healthy, and full life, with special care directed to the marginalized. We seek to embody the belief that every life has innate worth by providing shelter, hot meals, clothing, supplies & other resources.
We firmly believe in the power of community and its role in creating a compassionate, healthy, and sustainable way of living together. We offer ourselves, both as an organization and as individuals, to support and uplift our community. Through collaboration, active listening, and fostering strong relationships, we work towards building a sense of belonging and collective well-being for all.
Sustainable Renton is a grassroots nonprofit organization working to eliminate food waste, address food insecurity, and cultivate community resilience through community-based solutions. Our work is rooted in the belief that access to nutritious food, sustainable practices, and connected neighborhoods is a right - not a privilege.
We operate a community garden and public food forest which supports local growers to cultivate fresh food while building relationships and self-sufficiency. Through our food justice program, we reduce waste by redistributing surplus produce and goods to individuals and organizations in need. Our sustainability education program offers hands-on workshops, events, and public engagement opportunities. We also lead and support collaborative community projects that meet real needs, bring neighbors together, and create space for collective action.
We are so proud to partner with Luther’s Table and REACH to bring The Table - a free weekly community meal - to Downtown Renton. This collaboration is a powerful example of what happens when shared vision meets shared action. We’re excited to continue growing alongside these partners and to see all we can accomplish together.
